Dunshaughlin Community College is a pilot school for the Droichead. All Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) in DCC are supported during their first year of teaching using the Droichead model of induction and probation.

What is Droichead?

The main objective of Droichead is the professional development of NQTs by way of systematic support in the induction phase, thus laying the foundations for subsequent professional growth and development.

A key characteristic of Droichead is access by the NQT to a mentor and other experienced colleagues who form a professional support team (PST).

The PST in Dunshaughlin Community College is comprised as follows:

Mr. Shane Foley: Principal

Ms. Bridget Bennett: Deputy Principal

Ms. Julie Anne Collins: Mentor

Ms. Amy O'Hanlon, Ms. Angela Keeley and Mr. Stephen Leahy: Experienced Teachers
